Florida Muzzleloader Hunting Season

Updated as of 2/12/2020 - "Muzzleloading guns firing single bullets must be at least .30-caliber or larger. Muzzleloading guns firing two or more balls must be 20-gauge or larger."

"Muzzleloading gun season — Only muzzleloaders fired by wheel lock, flintlock, percussion cap or centerfire primer (including 209 primers) and crossbows and bows may be used. Firearms that can be loaded from the breech are not legal during muzzleloading gun season."

  • Muzzleloaders must be 20-gauge or larger firing two or more projectiles
  • Muzzleloaders must load from the muzzle
  • Sabots are legal
  • Telescopic sights are legal
  • Pelletized powders are legal
