Description

The .50 Caliber CVA Accura MR-X™ Muzzleloader is an upgraded version of the Accura MR. The Open Sight Accura MR-X muzzleloader carries over most of the features from the previous model with some serious upgrades to the stock, fit and finish, and long-range terminal performance. The .50 Caliber Accura MR-X Muzzleloader is the ultimate rifle for hunters wanting a compact design with increased BC bullets and velocities. This gun is right at home chasing whitetails in the Eastern US, as well as climbing the mountains of the Western US for elk and mule deer.

The CVA™ Accura MR-X Muzzleloader features the new CVA X-Treme stock, which sports an adjustable comb to fit any shooter and their optics of choice. This new comb adjustment is inset in the stock to allow for ambidextrous use, as there is no protruding knob to worry about. Additionally, the inset screw allows the gun to have a streamlined and sleek look and feel. This new CVA stock features a matte black stock with a Soft-Touch™ finish for great grip in all conditions. Adjustable stocks are gaining popularity in the shooting community due to the ability to give a shooter a proper cheek weld to the stock, whether they are using open sights or scopes with various ring heights.

The CVA Accura MR-X Rifle comes standard with the legendary Bergara™ barrel, which features a non-reflective matte finish on the exterior. The .50 caliber barrel on this muzzleloader is 26” long, with a threaded muzzle to accept the new CVA Paramount Muzzle Brake, which is threaded ¾” x 24. To properly stabilize the high BC muzzleloading bullets used in this muzzleloader, the MR-X features a 1:28” twist rate. Borrowing technology from the Paramount, this new Accura MR-X will offer a free-floated barrel without an under-barrel ramrod. Instead, all new CVA Accura’s will ship with a carbon fiber collapsible ramrod.

The CVA Accura MR-X comes with a Quake™ Claw Sling, Williams® Fiber Optic Sights, Accessory kit, Carbon fiber collapsible ramrod, and CVA Owner’s Manual. As with any CVA Accura Muzzleloader, there is an accuracy guarantee and a lifetime guarantee on manufacturer defects. If you have any questions about this muzzleloader, please feel free to contact our friendly and knowledgeable customer service team! Also, this gun is available on our custom packages page, where you can choose your gun, scope, rings, and case. We mount and bore sight all custom rifle combos!

Mr-x Williams sights

First of the shipping was fast thank you for that. The muzzleloader I've only shot it half a dozen shots was almost dead on at 50 yards with the peep sight, the trigger is nice and crisp and the peep sight easy very easy to aquire the target. I let my step son and son in-law shoot they both loved it and my son in-law is not a muzzleloader fan but he is thinking about getting one now. I would definitely recommend this rifle it also cleans up very easy.

Accura MR-X with Williams peep sight

I LOVE this thing. This is my first in-line muzzle loader and I had fairly low expectations for accuracy and reliability. I used the recommended .250 grain powerbelt aerolights with 90 grains of blackhorn 209. I had the rifle dialed in at 100 yards in less than a dozen shots. My only beef is with the sights, and it is more of a personal preference. I don’t care for fiber optic sights because the bead is too big and covers up most of my target at 100 yards.

It's a great muzzle loader. No question. Regardless of what you decide to buy, this is the only place to do business with. period. Can't say enough about how great these folks are. I won't buy anything from anywhere anymore.

Great Muzzleloader with a Caveat

I purchased this muzzleloader from a local retailer because my current hunting area only allows shotguns and muzzleloaders for deer. I also own a home in Colorado, where open sights are mandatory for muzzleloader season, making this firearm a practical choice.

For my first range session, I loaded 80 grains (by volume) of Pyrodex RS and paired it with a T/C 300-grain XTP bullet. The results were promising—my first shot at 50 yards hit dead center. While I struggled a bit to stay consistent on the bullseye, my second shot landed low, and my third was just an inch away from the first.

There are several good points to this muzzleloader. It is right at 7 pounds with a sling, the trigger is fantastic, the stock is great and the comb adjustment helps get perfect sight alignment. It's also very easy to break down for cleaning.

My only criticism is the oversized front sight, which significantly hinders precision. The sight measures .096 inches with my calipers, which feels overly large compared to the .019 pins on my bow. In my opinion, a front sight closer to .030 inches would greatly improve accuracy and target placement. This issue has already cost me opportunities—I missed one deer entirely and couldn’t take a shot at another due to the size of the front sight.

Overall, this muzzleloader performs well, but a more refined front sight would make it far better for hunting applications that demand precision. I have ordered a scope base and will replace the front sight when we move back to Colorado with a globe and 029 or 019 fiber optic.

CVA Accura MR-X 50Cal

I recently purchased this rifle and am already in love. The quality of this weapon is beyond what I was expecting from looking at the picture on the computer as well as holding some other brands in person. I was expecting for the MR-X to be sort of weak as compared to the other rifles that I held and have found that it is firm and very well put together. I feel that this rifle will last me forever and I will be able to pass it on to my grandkids and so on. Also, it came nicely packed and was easy to put together right out of the box. The one thing I am on the fence with is the Williams peep sights, as they are small. I do know that they sell a bigger set up and I may go with that set up instead.
