Pietta 1858 Remington army revolver

Fit and finish was pretty good. It had a burr on the loading arm pivot area that was easy to remove but other than that no problems. Sights were on at 20 yards with 454 diameter RB with 30 or 35 grains of Goex or 777. It shoots really well with RB. I have some historically accurate conicals that I shoot in my Dragoon but they will not fit under the rammer on this. I mainly got it to shoot RB anyway so it doesn’t matter. I took it out twice and shot six cylinders through it each time and everything worked as expected. The cylinder got sticky on the third reload so take some grease and a rag along. It’s a good revolver for the field I think, just take a little lube with you if you plan to shoot it much. I use CCI #10 caps just make sure you get them seated all the way. Nice blueing, nice wood, well put together and accurate. Time will tell but so far I love it.

5 stars!

Good quality, love how it feels in hand. Did not live test it yet but did test all the actions. Called a few days ago with a couple questions and staff agent was very informative and polite. Super fast shipping. I would highly recommend this model Pietta repro and I also highly recommend muzzle-loaders from my experience. Ps. Great price too.

Extended Range

I have the 5.5 in. barrel model as well. The 8 in. really extends the effective range, by a lot. Muzzle-Loaders is a great supplier. Reliable every time, fast service.
