Very sturdy, easy to shoot and stupidly accurate

Super!

This is the second 1858 Remington I have owned (the first one was used with the Civil War reenactments and fired close to 2,000 'rounds' of 15 grains FFFg and cotton wads) as well as deer hunting. This new one seems a bit heavier than my other one (purchased in 1978) and will last a long time. My next one will have the 5 1/2 inch barrel and I can use my .45 ACP cylinder with both. I highly recommend this 1858 for anyone wanting to shoot black powder. It's accurate at 25 yards and 50 yards with 24 -28 grains of FFFg powder and the conical lead .451 bullets. For fun shooting, the round lead .451 balls work great at 25 yards. I would also recommend a second cylinder for any serious shooting. Also, Clint Eastwood used the 1858 Remington .44 in the movie 'Pale Rider' due to the quick cylinder changes.

1858 Remington

The pistol is absolutely gorgeous. The action is crisp and timing is perfect. As beautiful as the gun is, the grips are probably nicer than tbe grips on my modern revolvers. Shipped right to my door, without any Hassle.
I brag to my friends about Muzzleloader.com !
