While the new Optima V2 shares the name of its popular predecessor, this second version gun has been re-designed with many new features. Modeled after CVA’s top-of-the-line Accura V2, the Optima V2 features the same trigger-guard with actuated breeching lever, internal parts, and neutral center-of-gravity trigger. This muzzleloader also features CVA’s Quick Release Breech Plug (QRBP), which is easily removed with your fingers, NO tools required. The Optima V2’s 100% ambidextrous stock, and CrushZone recoil pad make this gun one of the most comfortable you will ever shoot. The Optima has more quality features than any other muzzleloading rifle in its price range.

Equipped with a 26” stainless steel fluted barrel, the Optima V2 is easy to maneuver in the tree stand or in tight spots and comfortable to carry in the mountains. The V2 comes standard with a DuraSight® Fiber Optic Sights and CVA’s solid aluminum PalmSaver Ramrod. When compared to its competitors, the Optima V2 muzzleloader includes many features you won’t find anywhere else for the price.

Super accurate

This rifle is far more accurate than the Acura I purchased a few years back. With 290 grain barns t e z and black horn powder. I was skeptical when I purchased it but this rifle has exceeded my expectations.

CVA Optima V2 Rifle - Open Sights

I bought one in 2016 having never used a muzzleloader before. I have since shot 5 deer (3 bucks and 2 does) here in Minnesota with the CVA Optima V2 with open sights. The closest was around 20 yards and the farthest around 100 yards. The rifle shoots very well, is very accurate and handles beautifully. I am glad to recommend your company and the CVA Optima V2 to others.

Excellent Trigger and Superb Delivery

Thank you for your quick delivery. We had 90 boy scouts shoot the rifles this past weekend! The guns did great! Everyone loved them including the instructors! Sweet trigger pull! We just needed a couple more flasks! Went through over 450 rounds, 2 1/2 lbs of powder through 7 guns! We use 50 grains of 777 and round balls. I will agree the ramrod barely reached with the light load and already scratching up.

Incredible trigger, well made overall

Overall it's a well made muzzle loader that operates smoothly. The fit and finish isn't perfect, but it's nothing to complain about on a $300 gun. The stock sights are nothing special, and I replaced them with western precision sights.

The trigger is phenomenal. It's incredibly crisp and breaks slightly under 2.5lb based on my Wheeler trigger pull gauge. I expected to be unhappy with the trigger, but it is without a doubt my favorite part of this gun. It's far and away the best trigger I have found on an inexpensive factory gun.

Accuracy is very good, especially with upgraded sights. The first load I tried using Blackhorn 209 and 50 cal Powerbelt Aerotips held 2" 10 shot groups at 100yd with the stock sights, which dropped to to just over 1" with the Western Precision sights. That's more than adequate for the ranges I hunt at so I didn't put any more time and powder into finding a better load.
