Now my Kentucky Long Rifle Precussion 50 Cal has a Little Brother!

I assembled and completed a Traditions Kentuck Long Rifle kit last winter which came out very nice. I was thinking of buying a kit for the Kentucky Pistol but decided to try the pre-assembled pistol. It is very nicely completed. Only thing is the wood is much darker than the photos on the web site. Basically a dark coco. I may refinish it to match my rifle. Can't beat the price and Muzzle Loaders service

Kentucky 50 Cal percussion pistol

I had to have this to go with my Traditions Kentucky 50 caliber percussion rifle. The price was a 'no-brainer', fit and finish are absolutely beautiful. I may never get the chance to fire it but that's ok.

Great

Got this on Monday.
Finished it tonight.
Turned out very nice.
Used iron sulfate on stock and heated it, trying to bring out grain.
Still turned out very nice.
Can't wait to shoot some 189 gr round balls

Great piece

I ordered the complete pistol instead of the DIY kit on accident. But that's where my disappointment ended. The craftsmanship on this assembled pistol is very nice! The stock is smooth as glass and stained very nice. The bluing on the barrel is also done very well and overall fit and finish is great. Regardless if you want a conversation piece or an actual shooter, this Kentucky pistol has both. I have yet to shoot mine but don't foresee any issues other than the current availability of powder. I will be back soon for a DIY Kentucky rifle kit!!

Kentucky perc.pistol

I built this puppy from the kit...filed,sanded,massaged every steel to steel contact points, made trigger a little lighter on the pull, and fully carved the EXTREMELY hard beechwood stock...decided not to coat the barrel,In years to come,I'm hoping the Spanish steel barrel will get a lovely patena would make it more authentic and just a better color for these bl.powder guns.
