Nice light gun for any age.

not really impressed with the ramrod, takes too much time to unscrew end and turn it around and screw back on to reload. best bore sighted gun i ve ever bought. first 6 shots out of the box were in a 2 inch group at 100 yds! easy to clean too. overall, very pleased!

This is a very nice gun kit. The metal finish is awesome. The scope is good and I was able to zero it at 100 yards with 3 shots. The breech plug is easy to remove with no tools. There is 1 reason I didn't rate it 5 stars. Sometimes, after closing the gun, the hammer would not lock back in the fire position. I think it has a wedge lock that also acts as a safety to the hammer. It was no big deal to clean the wedge or to just slam the gun closed. The problem is, if you don't check the hammer to verify it will lock back, the gun could fail to fire when you're in the woods, looking at a trophy buck. Too late to fix it then as the noise would most likely spook your target. I love this gun and I have learned to keep the locking wedge clean and to check the hammer's ability to lock back before I enter the woods. The attached ramrod is a little short. I used 2 powder pellets and a 50 cal. Powerbelt Bullet. When these are loaded, the ramrod is flush with the end of the barrel. It comes with a plastic tee handle and a brass screw-in attachment. I haven't figured out a way that I like to use these in the field. I tip the gun and catch the ramrod as it falls out. I made a range ramrod out of a piece of 36" x 3/8" aluminum rod and load the gun at home before each trip to the woods.
BEAUTIFUL GUN. Nothing is perfect. I love it. As with any gun, just get to know it.
