Williams™ Western Precision Muzzleloading Sight Set - Fiber Optic Insert - 0.019" Bead - Green - 650208

I started with the cross hair disk that came with the sight and thought it was the best ever target option ever. However in field conditions discovered that in certain situations it was difficult, if not impossible to see against the background and thus have elected to try the fiber optic bead. Have not hunted with it yet but late season coming soon!

Wasn’t sure I’d like the color but I love the red fiber sight and at such a low cost it was a no brainer to give it a try. Now I have both and with such an easy way to swap depending on light conditions I can use the one I choose. Larger fibers cover up much of your target at longer ranges but this one works great

I own this insert with the 0.029” bead and 0.019” bead. The 0.029” bead matches the product photo exactly and is the quality that many of us within the shooting community have come to admire from Williams.

In contrast, the quality of 0.019” bead is awful. The black material is flimsy. The fit within the front globe is sloppy, compared to all my other Williams Western Precision inserts that fit perfectly. Most importantly, the fiber sits significantly off center within the front globe.

Given that the Western Precision sight set facilitates the rapid changing of inserts in the field, an off-centered bead could potentially cause an undesirable shift in the point of impact. I would hate for fellow muzzleloader hunters to make poor shots on big game due to a poorly manufactured insert.
