Good revolver and even better company to deal with!

It's a rare thing for me to review an item and while this pistol meets or exceeds my expectations it was the service at muzzle-loaders that blew me away so much so that I was tempted to buy another just to see if they could duplicate it. Very pleased with the pistol and especially the folk at muzzle-loaders!!

      Much Improved Product

Just received this pistol today, and this is an initial review. I am getting back into black powder shooting after being a historical re-enactor in the 80's/90's, so am very familiar with the old versions of these replica firearms.
I must say that I am impressed with the quality of this pistol. The one I received was perfectly timed right out of the box, which is a first in my experience. This is also the first I have seen with the correct half position "safety" pins actually in place. (Don't trust them, load 5 and keep the hammer on an empty chamber. The old timers didn't trust them either, for good reason.)
The arbor is perfectly the correct length as well, and the chambers have just a light break to the mouths, not a heavy chamfer, and mic'd consistent. Barrel and rifling are also clean and true.
The pistol will require the usual tweaking and deburring, one burr in particular is on the heavy side, and as usual, the wedge fit is tighter than a miser's purse and will need a small adjustment as well. But the overall fit and finish is miles above the old guns. Nothing unexpected at this price point. I haven't had a chance to fire it yet due to bad weather, but from my inspection, I am not expecting any issues. I'll update this review if any problems arise.
If I had one wish, it would be for Pietta to fully crown the muzzle and put a conical capable loading ram/opening on these, which would make them darn near perfect!
My true overall rating for this pistol would be 4-1/2 stars
