With the great looks, quality and accuracy of the popular Encore ProHunter™, this muzzleloader combines the advanced features of the Pro Hunter rifle with Thompson/Center’s solid reputation for durability and performance in the field. Unlike other muzzleloaders in its line, the ProHunter XT features an interchangeable barrel system allowing you to use one platform for many purposes. This model ships with a .50 caliber, 28-inch muzzleloader barrel equipped from the factory.

The Federal™ FireStick is a vital component to this groundbreaking new muzzleloader. The FireStick is a plastic capsule that holds pre-measured powder charges. The ability to have identical charges on every shot allows for a more consistent velocity spread, which increases accuracy and dependability. Since the FireSticks are only used once, there is no real cleaning involved in the breech area, which speeds up reloading as well. This technology reduces the need for many common accessories, which makes it much easier for beginners to get into the sport. Powder measures, powder flasks, nipple picks, speed loaders, cappers, parts soakers, and granular or pelletized powders are not needed with this muzzleloader, which can save hunters lots of money when they are first getting into muzzleloading. With this new muzzleloader, all you’ll need to carry in the field are a couple primers, bullets, FireSticks, and a bullet starter! 

The ProHunter XT™ muzzleloader is drilled and tapped for scope mounts and open sights. Additionally it is equipped with a Swing Hammer® that can be conveniently positioned toward either side of the frame, enabling easier access to the hammer under mounted scopes. The ProHunter XT features a Walnut stock with a 14-inch length of pull, crisp trigger and deadly accuracy.To protect the muzzleloader against inclement weather, Thompson Center has added a Nitride finish to the barrel to help protect from corrosion and extend the barrels durability and lifetime.
