Great kit

Great kit, easy to build, good directions, fast shipping. Using this kit to familiarize myself to using flintlocks before buying rifle kit.

Excellent kit. I have built 5 flintlocks. Yours is by far the best.

Super fun first build

Very little work to get it done. Read a BUNCH of other reviews and blogs about building. I took my time on sanding the wood used oil based early American, 2 coats light sanding between coats, topped with polyurethane one coat. Took a whole day on sanding and prepping the barrel for blueing. 3 coats of Casey birch wood blueing, light 4/0 steel wool and paper towel buffing between coats and it all turned out better than I imagined it would. This is a graduation present for my nephew. Next kit is the blunder buss which I start on next week when it arrives! Super excited

Traditions™ Flintlock Kentucky Pistol Kit - .50 Caliber - KP5050

I bought this kit to challenge myself and was not disappointed. It went together easily and parts fit with very little rework. I received some bad advise on woodworking and the stain looked awful. I sanded it down twice and started over and the third time, following new advice, it worked out beautifully. This was the first build I tried and the final result looks fantastic. The price of the kit was a bargain so my expectations were low but the results were better than the price would lead you to expect. I am very pleased with this flintlock.

traditions 50. cal kentucky flintlock pistol kit

Nice flintlock kit for the price. I got my first muzzle loader kit in 1979. Shoots pretty accurate. I crossed threaded a screw while building the kit, it was my own fault. Called traditions and they sent me a replacement screw free of charge.
