Williams™ FP-Hawken Peep Sight - Fits T/C Hawken & Renegade - w/ Target Knobs

Good sight! Might need a little taken off the stem on some guns, to clear the wood.

I installed this sight on my T/C Hawken. The tang on my rifle was already drilled and tapped from the factory. The screw that was sent in the sight package was an 8-40. My T/C from around 1976 era had a tang screw with a different thread pitch. It used a 8-32. It fit perfect and was easy to install. Definitely takes the vintage/classic style away from the rifle, however it is more accurate especially with the use of the set trigger.

Installation simple - 2 screws - rear tang and a pre-drilled one forward. The sight fits perfectly - I had to grind a tiny bit off the forward bottom corner where it made contact with the stock. Factory instruction in the operation is simple enough. Target knobs for elevation and windage makes it so easy to make the finest of adjustments. I found it shooting about 4 inches high at 50 yds with the elevation set at its lowest setting (actually, the lowest setting I can set it to is not the lowest marking on the elevation scale, but about 2 lines above the lowest) Gonna call Williams on that to resolve. But all in all, a great sight and a lot easier to use with old eyes than the open sights that come with the TC Hawken.

The FoolProof Hawken sight with target knobs is nearly great. Its a very good, rugged, lightweight, accurate peep sight. Compares well against the Lyman 57 except for one thing. Where the Lyman has a quick release button for instant elevation adjustments, the FP sight target knob for elevation jas a lock screw that needs a flat blade screw driver. There is a Gib Lock Knob to replace it making a much quicker tool free, in the field elevation change possible. But Williams doesnt include it with the FP TK version of the sight. Come on Williams, make this really good sight Great! Start including the Gib Lock Knob.
