Brixia™ Arquebus Musket Rifle - 20 Gauge Matchlock Ignition - BX1001

The Brixia™ Musket Rifle is a historical reproduction of the European Arquebus. The design is typical of firearms common during the late 16th and early 17th centuries—a time when the arquebus was used alongside other muskets by European armies. The Brixia Musket features the distinctive “Wallonian-style” butt stock, this unique design trend was common in early 17th century Flanders (Northern Belgium) but also much of Northern Europe in the early 1600's. This stock design is emblematic of the firearms used in major conflicts like the Thirty Years’ War and the English Civil War.

The Brixia process marries modern technologies with centuries-old traditions of the Valle Trompia (A valley in Northern Italy, known as the "Iron-Road" of the roman time period), ensuring every product meets rigorous safety and performance standards.

Every one of Brixia's barrels is forged from hardened and tempered steel bars which undergo strict hardness and tensile strength testing. Each barrel is expertly drilled and milled into the distinctive octagonal conical shape, that pays homage to the historic pieces of the time period. The wooden stock is individually selected, naturally seasoned European hardwood that is hand-finished and oil-polished for a brilliant patina.

The Brixia™ Arquebus comes with a matchlock ignition and included match cording to get you started. The Wallonian-style Arquebus features an lever activated matchlock mechanism that ignites the powder pan when the trigger lever is pulled. The musket also features a smooth bore 38" octagonal barrel that is designed to use a 20 gauge projectile. The Arquebus measures in at just over 57" in total length and weighs in at 9.3 pounds.
