The CVA™ Optima Muzzleloader Package comes with a 3-9x40mm bore-sighted KonusPro® scope and a durable CVA™ soft rifle case. The KonusPro® 275™ scope was designed especially for muzzleloaders, helping to take the guesswork out of hold over angles for even the most difficult of shots. The exclusive ballistic reticle, coinciding with the most popular black powder loads today, provides you with a system of reference lines for exact aiming points from 75 to 275 yards. Lateral hash marks allow for precise leads of moving targets as well as compensating for strong crosswinds. The glass engraved ballistic reticle is unbreakable, and the multi-coated optics are clear and bright.

The new CVA™ Optima Rifle has a completely re-engineered butt stock. The new rear stock is still 100% ambidextrous and comes with a reversible hammer spur so the gun can be fired by right and left-handed shooters. However, the stock now features an adjustable length-of-pull spacer just in front of the CrushZone™ recoil pad. The 1” LOP spacer allows the gun the adjust to any framed shooter from a youth all the way up to a full-grown adult.

One of the mainstay features to the CVA™ Optima is the actuated breeching lever which has been integrated into the trigger guard. This breeching lever makes opening the breech significantly easier when cleaning the gun. It also eliminates the chances of a breeching button becoming stuck or broken in the field.

In addition, the Optima muzzleloader comes with the same upgraded trigger seen on the V2 models. The Optima features a neutral center-of-gravity trigger system, that is both crisp and clean breaking. This trigger allows the shooter to maintain better down-range accuracy and precision with every shot.

For ease of use, especially for maintenance and cleaning, the Optima has been outfitted with CVA’s patented Quick Release Breech Plug (QRBP). This breech plug design allows for the removal of the breech plug by hand, absolutely no tools required. Not only does this save time during cleaning, but also it allows for quick access to the rear of the barrel in the field when you may not have a wrench on hand.

The new cheek riser system is integrated directly into the Optima stock. This cheek riser allows for optimal sight picture no matter if you are using a scope or open sights. The cheek riser on the Optima comes with two separate spacers that raise the cheek rest ¼” and ½”, This gives the shooter three different heights to adjust 0.00” (without a riser plate), 0.25” or 0.50”. The cheek risers can be easily changed out with only two screws, making for quick adjustments when needed. 

The CVA™ Optima Rifle features a Nitride-treated 416 Stainless Steel barrel, making it the closest thing to a “corrosion-proof” muzzleloader that has ever been developed. The Nitride finish technology, known as Salt Bath Nitride, is used to treat the barrel and offers exceptional wear resistance, unparalleled corrosion resistance in a scratch resistant, uniform black color. Already available in military applications, the nitride process hardens the outer layer of steel, making it both more durable and corrosion-resistant than chrome, which was previously the highest standard in bore-toughening techniques. Unlike exterior ceramic coatings, the nitride process penetrates both the inside and outside of the barrel, and can withstand thousands of shots. Best of all, Nitride is self-lubricating, thus eliminating the need to add oil to your rifle for an increase in muzzleloader velocities and greater ease in reloading follow-up shots. This rifle features a 1:28 rate of twist that is ideally suited to shoot belted or modern conical bullets.
