Excellent rings at a great price.....but.

I received my new Leupold rings along with my new scope and found both to be of great quality at a reasonable price. However, While the scope was a 3x9x40 and the objective lens just cleared the rifle's barrel, it was just barely too low to clear the top of the Traditions hammer. The rings were medium size. I ran into this problem once before with Traditions rifles but that time the scope had a 44mm objective lens. And of coarse the problem once again was the hammer height being too high. I suppose I could file off the serrations on top of the hammer to make it clear the scopes eye box but I would be concerned that it might effect lock time and moving mass weight hitting the firing pin. I'll probably just order the high rings instead.
