Description

The Pietta® 1862 Snub Nose Army Revolver is a modified version of the original 1860 Army revolver. Trimmed down to feature a short barrel this variation provides a smaller profile and lighter-weight option for easier transportation and carry.

This model features the same classic .44 caliber design with a fluted cylinder and shorter 3 inch barrel. A unique feature of the snub nose is the removed loading lever that typically comes on the full size 1862 Army revolvers. To mitigate for the removed loading lever a brass loading tool comes included with the revolver.

To provide a beautiful and authentic looking finish Pietta® has blued the barrel as well as case hardening the frame, backstrap and trigger guard.

Very Accurate pistol

I first off really like the checkered grips. Has a nice feel in my hands. I loaded with 25 grains of Pyrodex P and used a non-lubricated wad with a 454 Hornady round ball and got a 3" group with 4 balls all in the same hole at 15 yards. I used CCI # 10 caps and had a lot of cap jams. I found if it cocked the gun on it side it dropped the spent cap out and helped with that. Other than that I am really impressed with the accuracy of this pistol. I ordered a fitted leather holster by MASC Holsters, and it fit great. I enjoy everything about this pistol. I would invest in a good cylinder press to load this with. I ordered mind on the muzzeloading.com website.

1862 snub nose

Item shipped quickly. The gun is well made . I bought this one because of the fluted cylinder.
