Description

The .45 Caliber Traditions® Vortek StrikerFire VAPR™ LDR makes firing your muzzleloader safe and efficient. This rifle takes in-line muzzleloaders to the next level by removing the need for an external hammer and replacing it with an internal StrikerFire™ System.

The StrikerFire system works on the same principle as modern center-fire rifle safeties. To cock the gun, simply slide the striker button forward until it locks, then fire. The recessed de-cocking button allows for quick and quiet de-cocking of the firearm. The gun also comes equipped with an automatic de-cocking mechanism, so when the gun is opened, it is automatically de-cocked. By eliminating the external hammer you get faster lock times, plus the ability to mount your scope closer to the bore allows the gun to operate with less weight.

The Vortek VAPR™ LDR comes with a .45 caliber fast twist 1:20" rifled barrel, giving the rifle the ability to properly stabilize the modern high BC muzzleloading bullets. Traditions™ equipped the StrikerFire™ VAPR LDR with some additional features. The StrikerFire™ is outfitted with a TAC2™ two-stage trigger that is set at 2 pounds and is creep free. The innovative stock design makes the rifle lighter than any other rifle in its class while still maintaining maximum strength and durability.

The StrikerFire™ VAPR LDR also features a premium CeraKote™ finish, black composite stock, one-piece Accelerator Breech Plug™ that allows you to fire both loose or pelletized powder without changing the breech plug, a Dual Safety System, and Speed Load System that enables easier loading and more consistent groupings.

Beautiful

100g powder, 195g bullet, zeroed in 6 shots after useing a borsight. shoots clean, cleans easy, love the strikefire. DO BE CARFUL about crappy bullets or sabots, the 1/20 barrel will put a very tight spin on your rounds, dont ever expect to shoot musket balls out of this.

Be Careful with the Cerakote

My vortek Strikerfire gave me nothing but trouble right out of the box. It took me two years to get it shooting straight. I spent hours and over 200 rounds to get it to shoot right. I blame it on the Cerakote finish. It's applied after the rail holes are drilled and tapped. When inserting the fine threaded screws it strips them. I purchased a Nikon BDC scope from field and stream and had them install it. Big mistake! They never chased the threads on the barrel and just forced the screws in without torquing them. Three out of the 4 rail mounting screws were stripped and not tight. Thought the rifle was garbage... shot after shot. Tried sending the scope back to Nikon for repair and testing. They kept it. %^$#@! Seems they no longer make scopes. Had to buy a new scope. I needed a new mounting rail for the scope and found the culprit. Stripped screws. Had the holes on the barrel chased by a gunsmith. Mounted the new scope and had it sighted in 5 shots. Hate losing my Nikon Scope to bad craftsmanship by Traditions. They should have chased the threads before shipping the barrel out. Hope this helps someone else. I'd like to give Traditions 1 star for this fiasco but it shoots great now so I'll be nice and give them 3. Would have been 5 if not for this nonsense.

CHEAP!

Poor quality craftsmanship, I seen someone else stated that all the tapped holes are full of barrel coating, mine was also caked with whatever the coating is, all other screws were loose. Stalk is weak. Decocker couldn’t be in a worse location! Poor quality all around! Knew I should’ve bought a CVA. Hopefully it shoots!
