Description

The Traditions™ Deluxe Flintlock Kentucky Rifle is a beautifully crafted reproduction of one of America’s most iconic muzzleloading rifles. The rifle that would become known as the “Kentucky Rifle” was first crafted during 1730 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and saw use by hunters and frontiersmen for decades. The Kentucky Rifle would even see use during combat throughout the French and Indian War as well as the American Revolutionary War. The Kentucky Rifle was one of the first commonly used rifles in America during the mid to late 1700s and is one of the most popular reproduction rifles in circulation today.

Traditions has crafted the Deluxe Flintlock Kentucky Rifle to be an accurate representation of the classic rifle and have integrated key features and upgrades to enhance the utility and performance of the muzzleloader for hunters and shooters alike.

Beginning with the stock the Deluxe Kentucky Rifle features a beautiful hardwood, walnut stained and finished, two-piece stock. The furniture on the stock is composed completely of brass including the nose plate, ramrod barrels, stock connecting plate, trigger guard, patch box and butt plate. The brass furniture in tandem with the walnut stock gives the rifle a classic historical look that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional for use in the field.

The .50 caliber barrel of the rifle measures 33.5 inches and is composed of carbon steel that has been blued to protect the exterior of the barrel from rust and corrosion. The rifling is set at a 1:66 twist rate that is ideally suited for shooting .50 caliber patched lead round balls and offers great accuracy out to 100 yards.

In addition to the great features already listed the Traditions™ Deluxe Flintlock Kentucky Rifle features a case hardened flintlock ignition assembly, authentic wooden ramrod, fixed blade iron sights, and an upgraded double set trigger configuration. The double set trigger configuration allows the user to engage the ignition with either a standard trigger pull by simply pulling the front trigger or by first pulling the second “set” trigger which dramatically decreases the pull weight of the front trigger creating a hair-trigger.

The Kentucky Rifle created a lasting legacy of dependability and accuracy that has been passed down throughout the generations and continues to this day in the Traditions™ Deluxe Kentucky Rifles. Own your own piece of American history by adding the Deluxe Kentucky Rifle to your collection today.

Frizzen spring

I'm sure the factory produces a good product but the fruzzen spring was in need of an adjustment. Since this wasn't a kit gun I wanted to make sure that I didn't void the warranty, so I returned it for a correct adjustment at the factory.

Straight shooting

I have a couple of muskets, but wanted to step up to a rifle. Stuck with a flintlock of course, not really into that new fangled percussion stuff. It's a good shooter and quality made. Not historically accurate, but a great modern representation. My suggestion is to buy the kit and build this yourself. I think that would be more fun and rewarding. I'm just old and have little patience. Good gun would recommend.

It’s the real deal

The patch box isn’t great and the ram rod is hard to use after it gets a little dirty or if it’s cold…. But, this rifle is the real deal! Easy to load and shoot, the double triggers are outstanding, it’s easy to shot standing or from the seated position . Used 70grain load and was hitting paper at 100 yards, easy. Historical, accurate and fun to shoot!!
Shot 25 balls through it , running a cleaning patch every 6-8 shots in 18degree weather, made the final clean easy and enjoyable.

This is a great rifle all around!!!

Awesome rifle

Received my deluxe Kentucky flintlock very quickly. Fit and finish is well done. Traditions needs to write in the manual what size flint to use. Found on website. Where this rifle shines is its accuracy. 75 gr of 3f Swiss.490 round ball .015 lubed patch put 3 rounds on 2” at 75 yards right out of the box. I’m impressed.

quality

I bought this flintlock 4 days ago. I was shocked it got here within 3 days with free shipping. I pulled it out of the box and examined it. First thing I noticed was how pretty it was. The quality I would say is 7.5 out of 10 maybe an 8. That is better than I expected for a rifle of this price range. You want a 10 out 10 ? Shell out some more money. Fit and finish is great, minus a few minor and I say minor flaws. I can't wait to take it out and shoot it. If it would have come with a flint and leather It would be an 8 if not 8.5.
