Updated as of 10/3/2025 - "An individual hunting deer with a muzzleloading firearm during the muzzleloading deer season shall only possess or carry afield, or take a deer with a crossbow, muzzleloading rifle, muzzleloading shotgun, or black-powder pistol, loaded with black-powder or a commercially manufactured black-powder substitute."
"Muzzleloading firearms are considered
unloaded when the cap is removed or priming powder is removed from the pan,
or when the battery is removed on electronic systems. The ball and powder can
remain in the barrel."
