The Updated Line Up - Williams Western Precision Sight Sets

It has been a couple of years since Williams first released the Western Precision Sight Set which has taken the muzzleloading world by storm. Since that time Williams has expanded the line up to include a new fiber optic version of the sight set as well as offering stand alone globe sight options. We are going to give you an updated look at all the options now available in the Western Precision Sight Set line so you can make the best decision for your upcoming hunting seasons.

The newest addition to the Western Precision Sight (WPS) line up is the fiber optic sight assembly. This updated version of the original WPS system features a new front globe sight with 3 window cutouts and a fiber optic insert. This combination allows for greatly improved sight visibility on cloudy days, in dark forests or in the crucial early morning or late afternoon hunting hours.

One of the great features of this front globe is that it is still compatible with the original reticles that came on the first variation of the WPS. Williams now offers the reticles in a card that can be ordered separately from the sight set so you can get the best of both worlds.

Williams also offers two fiber optic reticle inserts for individual sale. One is a red fiber optic the other is green. The green fiber optic is what comes standard with the full sight set.

Something we have often recommended to our customers is to purchase the fiber optic WPS along with the reticle card. There are two good reasons for that approach. The first is that the reticles still provide better overall target visibility than the fiber optic insert. The second is with the new globe sight allowing more light into the tube you can see the reticle inserts better than you can in the original WPS globe sight.

If you have no interest in the fiber optic version never fear. Williams is still churning out the original Western Precision Sight Set at record pace and we can hardly keep them on the shelves! The original WPS sight set has continued to dominate the market and is a fan favorite among thousands of our customers. This system has everything you could hope for in a peep and globe sight setup and works great with a large assortment of inline muzzleloaders.

If you already have a WPS sight set and you would like to try out the globe sight that comes with the set you didn’t purchase, Williams offers the front globe as an individual item now as well. You can purchase either the fiber optic or the original globe sight by itself and it will be compatible with the peep sight that comes with either set.

One question we get from quite a few people is can you pair the WPS front globe with other brands of peep sight or peep sight scope rails on the market. That answer depends on your rifle and the rail you are using, however, in general that is not something we would recommend doing. It can be challenging to get proper sight alignment mixing and matching sights and this tends to lead to more frustration than it is worth. If you really want to give it a try please be advised you may need to modify the globe sight to get proper sight alignment and once the sight has been modified it can’t be returned to our store or to Williams.
