Traditions Introduces .45 Caliber Muzzleloaders

New for 2022, Traditions is introducing a .45 caliber option to the Pursuit VAPR XT, Vortek StirkerFire VAPR, and Vortek StrikerFire VAPR LDR lines. Traditions has established themselves as a leader in the muzzleloader industry by producing safe, lightweight, and accurate muzzleloaders. We are excited about Traditions’ decision to include a .45 caliber option in their inline muzzleloaders as this is an option our community has frequently asked for. 

Pursuit VAPR XT

The Traditions Pursuit VAPR XT is one of the lightest muzzleloaders on the market, making it ideal for mountain hunting. The added accuracy and range of the .45 caliber is crucial as the additional range is often needed when hunting in a mountainous environment. The Pursuit VAPR XT is the most affordable .45 caliber muzzleloader on the market. It also features the premium XT trigger, which is comparable in overall feel to the triggers found in muzzleloaders that are significantly more expensive. If you are looking for a lightweight, accurate, and affordable .45 caliber muzzleloader then the Pursuit VAPR XT is an excellent choice. 

Vortek StrikerFire VAPR

The new .45 caliber Traditions Vortek StrikerFire VAPR is particularly exciting as the .50 caliber version is already capable of producing excellent accuracy at 300 yards. Data has shown that high ballistic coefficient .45 caliber bullets have a positive effect on long range accuracy. In addition, the Vortek’s strikerfire design and integrated trigger safety make it one of the safest muzzleloaders on the market. We expect the new .45 caliber Vortek StrikerFire VAPR to be one of the best muzzleloaders for this year.

Vortek StrikerFire VAPR LDR

Out of the three .45 caliber options added by Traditions this year, we are most excited about the Vortek StrikerFire VAPR LDR. This muzzleloader offers all of the same premium features as the standard Vortek StrikerFire VAPR but with a longer barrel. The StrikerFire VAPR LDR’s 30” barrel produces higher velocities when compared to the 28” barrel of the StrikerFire VAPR. The added velocity leads to a flatter trajectory and increased accuracy at distance. It is for this reason that we believe the Vortek StirkerFire VAPR LDR to be the most exciting release from Traditions in 2022.
