Description

The Muzzleloader Brass Musket is the perfect tool for shooters using musket cap or western ignition rifles. The spring-loaded capper is engineered to hold 15 musket caps, with or without flanges and makes for quick-easy loading in the field or at the range. This musket capper is an essential tool for scoped rifles and helpful with gloved hands. The musket capper is made of solid brass and equipped with a handy lanyard loop and the rectangular tube eliminates problems with tipped and jammed caps.

Works Great.

I ordered to replace the plastic version that did not work. This one works great. Caps insert easily into the capper and they dispense fine. I am using these with the Schuetzen 4 flange musket caps.

It works, but it's cumbersome

I bought the capper thinking that it would make capping my Civil War reproduction rifle easier than fumbling with loose caps in a pouch, but I found that the capper barely fit into the space around the nipple of my rifle, so it takes some doing to get the cap onto the nipple. Although the capper is a spring-loaded device, it is completely reliant upon gravity to feed the line of caps to the end of the tool for loading, only adding to my frustration. Perhaps the issues that I've run into are inherent to my specific rifle (1861 Colt Contract-a variant of the 1853 Enfield). The overall quality of the tool seems adequate. I'm hopeful that my capping technique will improve with time.
