Description

The Muzzle-Loaders.com™ Leather Flintlock Jaw Pads are designed to fit 3/4 or 7/8" flints. The Leather Jaw Pads help in the loading of angled, misshaped or hump-backed flints. Simply affix the flat side of the flint to the leather jaw pad using a dab of super glue or pine resin (helps to prevent angled gun flints from being ejected during firing or clamping), then clamp into the flintlock cock jaws.

Using the Leather Flintlock Jaw Pads allows you to preserve your flints, giving you more shots per flint. The leather jaw pads come in a package of 3 and are either 3/4" by 1-1/2" or 7/8" wide by 1-3/4" long. Just enough to fold around a flint to expose the edge. These jaw pads are blanks, so they may need to be trimmed for your individual lock jaws.

Simple & convenient

It would be difficult to find the right amount of leather to make these patches at this price. These patches are a simple & convenient solution to firmly hold flints into place.

Great muzzleloading product

These leather flint pads were sized perfectly. I always replace the leather pad when replacing the flints. They hold tight and I will purchase again.

For beginners and novices

They do work, need more thickness and lose the shiny side. No two flints are the same. The ability to grip the various shape of knapped flint is very important.
With the cost of flint hovering the $4.00 mark, a better conforming jaw pad is needed.
If you're wearing tanned or suede gloves, which loses a grip quicker?
I'm not saying these jaw pads are bad. I'm saying there's room for improvement.
I give kudos to MZ for supporting the black powder shooting sports and putting supplies on the market.
These leathers are okay for beginners and novices.
I will recommend them for use.
