The Pedersoli™ 1861 Springfield Percussion Rifle was originally manufactured in 1861, in limited quantities, by the “Springfield” Armoury, this replica, authentically reproduces one of America’s most historical firearms. More efficient than the earlier smooth bored muskets used during the American Civil War, the 1861 Springfield was a revelation in accuracy and dependability.
The 1861 Springfield Rifle features a beautiful 52 ½” one-piece american walnut stock in a satin finish. The Pedersoli™ 1861 Springfield Rifle features armory bright steel furniture and lock plate. The lock plate is engraved with “US” over “Springfield” and an Eagle, while the tail features an “1861” engraving. The barrel is marked “1861” “VP” with an eagle head and the rifles bands are marked with a “U”. The Springfield’s buttplate is also engraved with a “US” mark.
The Springfield 1861 Rifle is manufactured by Pedersoli™ in Italy. The rifle is 56” in overall length and weighs 9.7 pounds and is approved by the North-South Skirmish Association (N-SSA). The recommended load for the 1861 Springfield is 60 grains of FFg black powder with a .570 round ball and .015 shooting patch or a .575 minie ball.
