Description

The Muzzleloader Magnum Speed Loader will handle any magnum load, pelletized or loose and bullets up to .50 Caliber. The MZ1617 is designed for .50 caliber bullets only and comes in a convenient package of 3 (three) speed loaders.

PREPARING THE SPEED LOADERS

  1. Set the pre-lubricated bullet on a flat surface and push the Speed Loader down over the bullet. Allow a small amount of the base of the bullet to protrude from the Speed Loader so that it can be aligned with the barrel. Wipe away excess lubricant that is created during this process. Replace the cap.
  2. Use Blackpowder, Pyrodex or Pyrodex pellets only. Measure all charges using powder measure. Do not exceed the manufacturer’s recommended charge. Pour the powder charge into the Speed Loader and replace the cap.

CHARGING THE RIFLE

  1. Hold the rifle with the muzzle pointing upwards, pointing away from your face and body. During loading always handle the rifle as if it could fire at any moment.
  2. Open the Speed Loader cap. Carefully pour premeasured powder charge into the barrel.
  3. Place the Speed Loader on the muzzle with the protruding portion of the bullet inside the bore. Insert your bullet starter into the top of the Speed Loader and push the bullet down into the bore. Remove the Speed Loader and use your ramrod to finish seating the bullet against the powder charge.

**WARNING: “MAGNUM” CHARGES SHOULD ONLY BE LOADED IN GUNS DESIGNED FOR SUCH LOADS

Perfect size

The despite the advertised size, the standard size speedloaders never seemed to hold the 90 grain charge that I use in my Thompson Impact. These on the other hand are perfect!

Works Great!

I really like these tubes, the bullet fits snug in the tube on top of the powder and easy to push into the barrel.

Work Great

These work really well for loose powder!

Speed Loader

Seems to be too large for .50 caliber. The bullet just slides all the way through. The bullet and powder should have seperate compartments. I thought that a magnum load was 150 grains. I can barely fit 120 grains of loose powder and they are hard to open so the powder spills out when you open it. When you pour the powder out into the barrel the bullet slides out with it and loose powder will get on the other side of the bullet.

Wouldn't Recommend for Loose Powder

I have had the traditions speed loaders and thought these looked comparable and wanted some spares for an upcoming hunt. The caps do not fit nearly as well and there is no separator for bullet / powder in the middle. I think the lack of separator makes loading loose power a bit of mess, it may work fine for pellets I have not tried that.
