Description

The Pedersoli™ 1853 Enfield Rifle is a 58 caliber percussion model that is a reproduction of the 3-band rifle manufactured in the 1850's. The Enfield Rifle was considered the pinnacle of European military rifles of it's time period. Introduced by the British War Department after years or development and research that improved on the caliber and dimensions of previous models. Hundreds of thousands of Enfield Rifles were sold to both the North and the South during the US Civil War of the 1860's. Commercial gun makers in Birmingham and London England made the overwhelming majority of P53 Enfields.

The Pedersoli™ 1853 Enfield features a beautiful 51” one-piece American Walnut stock in a satin finish. The rifle is a .58 caliber (.577) and comes in a 1:78 twist rate. The 39” blued round barrel is tapered, and is 1.090 at breech to .780 at muzzle. The Pedersoli™ Enfield’s front sight is a blued steel base and blade, while the rear sight is blued steel flip-up with a ladder/elevator marked to 800 yards. The Enfield Rifle features a 13 ½” trigger pull and is approved for reenactment by the North-South Skirmish Association (N-SSA)

The P1853 Enfield is a percussion ignition model that is designed for traditional musket caps. It features color casehardened locks, a line engraving on lockplate and hammer. The Enfield’s lockplate is marked “1861 Tower” with crown on tail. The Pedersoli™ Enfield Rifle is engraved with “Birmingham Small Arms Trade” with a crown on right side of buttstock. The 3-Band Rifle sports blued steel bands, a brass nosecap, buttplate and triggerguard. The rifle also comes with a .275 steel ramrod with 10x32 threads and a 8x1.25mm percussion nipple.

The 1853 Enfield Rifle is made by Pedersoli™ in Italy and is 55" in overall length and weighs 9 3/4 lbs. The recommended load for the Enfield rifle is 60 grains of FFg with a .577 minie (or) .570 round ball with a .010 shooting patch. The Pedersoli™ 1853 Enfield Rifle is great to take out in the field or simply display on your wall.
