This year, manufacturers are looking to ‘Make Muzzleloading Great Again’, with a slew of new models to choose from. Traditions added several great new models in their inline, traditional, and pistol selection, as well as an awesome new cannon. CVA is introducing a new Accura, as well as expanded Nitride further in their lineup. Thompson Center and Lyman have not included any new models for 2017, and both have chosen to keep all 2016 models as well.
New for 2020, CVA has announced several great new products, the CVA Paramount Pro .45 and .50 caliber muzzleloaders, the CVA Paramount Muzzle Brake, threaded muzzles to the standard Paramount line, and new look and camo patterns to the Accura lines, as well as a new .50 caliber PowerBelt ELR bullet for the Paramount Pro.
Each year, our Muzzle-Loaders.com team travels to SHOT Show in Las Vegas to check out all of the new muzzleloader offerings. This year, there were several new muzzleloaders to note, as well as some welcome refreshments to some current models.
Introduced at the 2017 SHOT Show, the CVA® Optima V2 Long Range™ Muzzleloader features a 30" Nitride coated barrel. The longer barrel provides the Optima LR™ with increased muzzle velocities and greater accuracy at longer distances.
Introduced at the 2017 SHOT Show, the CVA™ Wolf Nitride Muzzleloader features 24" Nitride coated barrel which was previously only available on higher priced rifles. When budget is taken into consideration, the CVA Wolf is a clear leader, however, we are jazzed about the fact that CVA added a Wolf Nitride for 2017.

CVA™ and PowerBelt® are proud to introduce the new ELR Bullets for 2019. In an effort to continue advancing black powder technology, PowerBelt has teamed up with CVA to create the PowerBelt™ ELR (Extreme Long Range) Bullet. The bullets will come in .45 caliber and be engineered to be used with faster 1:22 twist rate rifles.
